Great for more advanced training, such as sports, firearm training, gun ranges, millitary and competition.
I have only used it once so far , The time it held up to 12 gauge hits at 12 feet. It had no problem with 380 hits at a similar distance.
I used the targets that came with it on the box. I also used decal targets to get more use out of the cardboard. The metal clips provided also worked well to secure the target.
I was afraid it would tip over. I bought long metal tent stakes, there are holes in the base for them to go in. I hammered them in easily though not completely. Perhaps this kept it from falling over on impacts.
The metal is very sturdy. I gave it 4 out of 5 since I felt it needed the stakes to stabilize though it did not want to try it without them.
I would recommend the device so far for backyard practice.
I don’t really know if it was a good price but I am happy since the materials are sturdy.
I found this stand to be very quick and easy to set up and pack away during range trips. One thing to keep in mind is that it can be knocked over by wind so my solution was to stack a rock weighing about 5 lbs on the corners of the base where stakes can be driven (due to my environment I found using the surrounding rocks to be more convenient than stakes). I like this style of stand much more than the brackets that hold wood for legs. Once set up with furring strips and cardboard, I can pick up the entire target system with one hand and move it to wherever it needs to be.
If you're on the fence about this target stand, go ahead and order it with confidence!
Easy to adjust. The targets dont fall into the wind. Just add 2x1 wooden blocks and 1 inch large binders.
Update: just bought the second one. Is better than some other stands, because it provides portability and adjustability that the others might not have.
We have been stapling targets onto trees for years. This has worked perfectly so far. I picked up 1x1 cheap wood from Lowes and put it all together really fast. It has worked great. We will have to replace the wood every few times because we have already got some major splinters from hits. If you hit only the target area it should last a very long time. Switching the wood is easy though, so not a huge issue.
I "killed" one of the clips that they send with this to hold the targets right off the bat getting ready to sight in a new gun, but I like the idea of being able to replace them at Staples. The whole setup was quite sturdy and my targets stayed flat. Good value for the money. (Carry some extra clips in case you do what I did). I'd have never thought of using them to hold a target. Works great and I'm happy. very portable too.
