Emails are not only created by the email developer or designer. Often, copywriters, strategists, and other marketers are involved in the process. Ensuring everyone on your team can easily collaborate is essential for a successful email campaign. In the third installment of our Litmus Builder Essentials series, learn how a cross-functional team can use Litmus Builder to collaborate and produce great email campaigns. Stay organized As any project manager will tell you: the key to effective team collaboration is organization. Well, organization and communication. Litmus can help you in both cases. Configure email folders When you log in to Litmus, the first thing you will see is your dashboard. Here you will see all your emails. On the left side are your folders. Folders are handy for organizing different types of emails for different purposes (eg, marketing or transactional) or for collecting specific emails,
like all your weekly newsletters for a specific month. Everyone in your Litmus account can view your emails and folders, so keeping things organized is the first step to productive teamwork. Using a naming convention for your emails and folders ensures that the whole team can find the emails they are looking for (eg Litmus Weekly). At Litmus, we have folders for each of our regular campaigns, like Litmus Weekly, Monthly Newsletter, Litmus Live and Webinars. Each folder name also includes the year to prevent folders from overflowing Image Masking Service with emails. We also use a naming convention for our emails, so we know which specific email we're looking at (eg 2021-06-10 Litmus Weekly). Tip: Looking only for folders you created? All you have to do is click on “My Files”. There it is ! Store all your campaigns under one roof Whether you use multiple email service providers (ESPs) for different types of emails, just migrated ESPs, or are creating emails for multiple brands or departments, it's very possible that your emails mails are located in several different places.
This can make it very difficult to reference what an email looks like and what its content is. Litmus Builder can serve as a source of truth in your emails. We put this into practice ourselves! As a team, we use one ESP for marketing emails and another for transactional emails. And we moved to a new platform in 2020. Despite these changes, we were able to use Litmus Builder to store and reference our old emails, regardless of the platform they are sent from. Plus, you can easily sync your emails from Litmus Builder to a supported ESP to keep your email up-to-date in both locations - no manual copying and pasting of code required! This helps your team adopt an agile workflow, as all team members have access to the latest emails at all times.
