Joey Bosa's Madden 22 rating is good but there is room for improvement LA Chargers' edge rusher.
Joey Bosa is a Madden 22 left outside linebacker , who is a 92 overall (in previous editions it was a right end but since the LA Chargers switching to a 3-4 defense and he's now left-side linebacker). It is hard to find fault with the rating Bosa earned as he's one of the top edge rushers of the game.
Bosa recognizes that this isn't the ceiling. By the time the season comes to an end and the Madden team adjusts their ratings the player should be in the upper-90s. In reality, it should not be a surprise if Bosa is the second highest-rated defensive line player in the game behind Aaron Donald.
The most important reason is Staley. Bosa has been a top player throughout his career. Staley has earned an income by helping elite players perform even better. Staley was a huge success with Khalil Mack and Von Miller. Mack had a stellar season as an outside linebackers coach under Staley and hasn't been that way since.
Mack is still clearly an outstanding player, however his performance hasn't quite been as good as the 2018 season. He had the best matchups with Staley before he was dealt to the Denver Broncos with Vic Fangio.
Aaron Donald was already at the highest of the food chain at the time Staley made his way to the Los Angeles Rams in 2020 but look at his impact on Leonard Floyd. The singer broke up with Staley in 2018, went back to his old ways in 2019 and then joined the Rams in 2020. It was the best season of his professional career. Staley can accomplish things that edge rushers with other coaches are unable to do. There is no denying that Joey Bosa is one of the most talented edge rushers in the league, so with the right coaching the Defensive Player of Year Award can be achieved. Bosa's hit ratings would skyrocket in the region of 97-98. Myles Garrett currently has a 98, and Mack is 95. Bosa might be in the upper range and maybe even better than these two.
